    Good Afternoon, @kerophile , George,

That shows me what I wanted to see! Thanks, very much, Mate! The parts diagram actually shows it like it should be installed, with the wires passing in between the burner tubes, each one forming opposing "hooks", (right and left), which are hooked to burner tubes opposite each other. This keeps them in place, but makes it easy to remove them for cleaning, or service. By the way, this is not the photo I was seeking, but it got the job done!! Well done, and thanks very much, as always, George!! God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

@Doc Mark , hello once more, hello men here also. I am a proud owner of green military version of 535th that i've catched new from ukraine. This one is one of my favorite stoves model from sweden, motherland of kerosene stoves and i think this model is the best in the segment of universal 2-burners stoves can be used in/outdoor, yacht, car, truck, camping, and many others. I wish you to finish the fettling fast and enjoy its best powerful and beautiful blue flowers of kero flame! My best regards, Gi.
PS: If you have any special questions you can send me a pm.

    Good Morning, All,

The cleaning has gone about as far as it's going to go, as I am considering this stove to be not only lovely, but also a good, solid user! So, several dips in the citric acid bath, and some of @kerophile GSR solution, and lots of scrubbing with a brass brush and Scotch Brite pads, and here's how things are turning out. I decided to service the NRV pip, even though it felt soft enough to work, as found. Glad I did, actually, because the new one seals very well, indeed, with no leakage, at all.

And, here are the various parts, bits, and bobs, as they all turned out. I've included the Hipolito burner, even though I'll not use it in this stove. I have two Optimus 207 burners, and they will be a better match in this 535, I think. Still got to sort out the inner and outer caps, but the Hipolito caps will do, for now.

And, the lot, all together for a "family photo". Until the seals arrive, I'll not be doing much more assembly, other than loosely putting things on the stove, to make it easier keep track of the various parts.

    DSCN8650.jpg

As you can see, it all came fairly clean and ready for use, even though the poor old Hipolito burner and spirit cup didn't fare quite as well as the Optimus parts. I wonder why that is? Better brass in the Swedish stuff? In any case, I'm happy to see the results, and can hardly wait to get it all assembled, tested, and ready to use! No more photos, or reports (unless something untoward happens!!), until I'm ready try for the "Blue Flames"! Thanks, again, for checking all this out! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

P.S. I do believe that my second stove like this is soon going to be winging it way here. That one is without burners, but with everything else. So, I can make it another 535, kero burner, or better yet, make it a 535A, as I do believe I have a few good 209N burners down in the Hobbit Hole #2!!

    Very nice.
Do you need a tester? I volunteer.

Did you rinse with a baking soda solution after the citric acid bath?

    Hey, @snwcmpr ,

You're ON!! Come on out, tomorrow, and we'll test it, together! Ok, that was just wishful thinking. Too far for you, and I don't have the seals and such anyway, so it won't be tested until then. No, I didn't use the baking soda method, just plenty of hot water, and dish soap. I hope that work well. I don't think I've ever done the baking soda solution thing. I'll have to give that a try. Thanks, for asking, and mentioning that method. Have a good evening! God Bless!

Hello @Doc Mark did you ever get this stove going? I would love to see photos of it if you have.

I am just putting the finishing touches to two of the Primus version 535's that I have.
New pan rings have just arrived from basecamp and I am making from scratch new spirit
priming tubes. I will post the drawing for them when I have finished. I need to figure out
the clips and replacements for the wicks.
Looking at fibreglass wick in brass tube. Sourcing is a problem at the moment.

    Regards
    Geoff

    Morning, Geoff (@Geoff Chirnside ),

Yes, I did get that stove up and running, but did not like the way the old, rather beat Hipolito parts fit into the scheme of things. So, I have now bought replacements for that, and currently, that stove, and another one that I'm going to setup for kerosene, only, are in parts (again), and waiting for me to reassemble them!

Well done on getting your Primus 535's! I look forward to seeing your cobbled priming tubes. Have you checked with some of the lamp wick companies? Long ago, when fettling my Hauck and Son's Meth's stove, I had to replace the small wick inside the burner tube, and found some great stuff that work perfectly.

I'm guessing you can find small wicks like this, down where you are. If not, let me know, and I will see if I can help you get some. Gotta run, but well done, again!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Geoff, (@Geoff Chirnside )

Here's the place where I get any and all wicks that I need.

    Miles Stair's Wick Shoppe

Give them a look, and see if Miles can help you with your wick needs. If you need me to help, I'll gladly do so. Take care, and God Bless!

Hello Mark, thanks for the link to the wick shoppe. I have lots of ideas running around in my head at the moment.'
I would like to set it up as per original but I doubt that is possible, asbestos being the bad guy that it is so best function
is what I am after. Some experimenting ahead.

Here is where I am at with the spirit tubes, the brass is a bit thicker tham original and is quite hard so I will probably need
to anneal it to finsih the job.

I am going to take the burner/tank assembly out of the body of the stove and fit and mount each tube for best fit.

I also have some stainless steel welding wire about 1mm diameter that seems to have a bit of spring in it.

I suspect the original wires were a bit thicker than that though. I will post photos of my stove when I have a bit more trime.

That will probably be tomorrow as we have just been put into lock down again.

    Regards
    Geoff

Ed the lock down is because we had a breach of the border two weeks ago. It is not yet known how that breach occurred.
In the mean time close and casual contacts of the original cases have been asked to isolate. A member of one of these groups
of people chose to ignore that advice and to go about their life as normal. They have now been tested positive for covid 19 and
their movements are being tracked. It seems that they have been contagious for at least 5 days with the uk variant of the virus.
They are young and active and have covered a lot of ground in the last five days, lots of opportunity to spread the virus hence
    the lock down.

We have been out this evening, all in accordance of the lock down, having dinner with my sister and our daughter before she heads
    back to Vancouver.

I took along the 535 so that we could cook dinner in her garden and all remain together .

    here are photos:

    ready to serve.jpg

Served with lettuce, tomato salsa, nachos, cheese, sorry lost count but very nice. The snarlers were cooked just for the fun of it.

Incidently, Geoff, Washington State deaths have now fallen to zero the last few days and cases are way down. I expect, without checking, that the BC stats are definitely better. So I'd say that Vancouver is probably about the best place to be in North America...

Of course, the border has been closed for months, also.

Thanks Ed that is reassuring, she is a clever girl and will do all she can to remain safe.

It is wonderful to see the fall in cases in the USA and the UK, the deaths are now
    dropping as well.
So sad that so many had to die before we got to this stage.
