Shone up a bit for the camera. Nip and tuck on burner bell As received, the burner bell had a shim installed to take up excessive clearance between it and the vapourising tube. It resulted in the burner bell sitting too high on the vapouriser, around 4mm too high. A side effect of this was that the extra distance travelled by the vapourised fuel before hitting the flame plate (so more opportunity to mix with air) compensated to some extent for a well oversized jet orifice (a 0.32mm passed through it). It created tolerable combustion, though still too rich, with yellow in with the blue. I made a saw cut in the burner bell mounting boss. Then used parallel-jawed pliers to get the bell to closely match the taper of the vapouriser tube. Silbrazed. Cleaned up. I repaired the vapouriser using a hypodermic needle insert, the technique illustrated HERE. Correct combustion restored. Packing the stove in its box, the contours of the windshield plays a part. The instructions show its location. A tight fit. John
Lovely work… and a lovely stove… And thank you for showing me how the stove fits in its tin… (Mine is missing its high on my wish/want list priming can…)
