Dear Kerophile, first time owner of the Military Stove number 12, It was gifted to me from a friend. On first examination it has been passed along without the pricker rack, I have on the advice in here ordered one from TOC ( hopefully it will arrive soon) I see the advice here using for refitting the pricker rack using the Optimus 111 stove instructions, is this the same advice you would use to fit the pricker rack to the Military stove number 12? ( First time Military Stove fettler) BTW where do you all get the corresponding square pans sets from? many many thanks.
Hi @Stephen Gabbutt https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/fitting-replacement-parts-on-regulated-burners.8843/ The additional tips I gave for fitting a new cleaning needle to a No.12 stove are gives here: Once you have fitted the needle and have it synchronised with the regulator, watch how the needle performs as you slowly turn the regulator knob. Do not raise it too far or it will wind off the top of its travel....you just want to see that it rises centrally and will engage properly in the jet aperture without fouling once you fit the jet. These needle assemblies are expensive and easily broken if the needle fouls. I don’t have the pan set but they often appear on Ebay....Beware of what condition you order! Best Regards, Kerophile.
If you need a good source for the pan set give me a pm last time he had un issued and others used in various condition
Dear kerophile many thanks for your quick answer, I'm new to the site, what's the best way of buying the pricker rack from @pyro_P if TOC doesn't send mine out ? is there a link to the shop? Many ongoing thanks. Steve
1. I know nothing about the Australian pyro P. Or his association with a No.12 stove. 2. TOC is the only supplier of No.12 stove parts that I know of. 3. If I was stuck I would contact Mike at Base Camp in the UK and ask if he can supply a suitable rack/needle part for a No.12 stove: Optimus Spares Price List 4. You can run the No.12 stove quite happily without the rack/needle installed. You would need a conventional classic stove external pricker to clear a blocked jet. Best Regards, Kerophile.
Spot of polishing and she's looking well, TOC still haven't sent the pricker needle despite ordering over a week ago.... but she's up and running with a silent cap

Hi Surveyor yes I used the pot to pre boil the roasties before they went in the oven for the chicken roast I’m having a few pressure problems so I’ve just bought the valve kit from The Fettlebox
Stephen Yes I have one as well, have a look on the HMVF forum as well as these stoves are mentioned there as well.
