Just picked this up this evening which I kind of like already. I've already got a seal kit ordered, but how far should I go with restoration, new pot trivits are easy to make but should I paint the tank or just leave it. Also can anyone date it.
    Thanks scott

    Hi @Boogy
After changing the seals I think it will run. The 725 and the 625 are very robust and very good stoves.
Why new pot rests? They look fine!
As hard user I would keep it as is is, but if you want a shelf queen... on the other hand, stove restoration is a great fun!
You see, you have to decide by yourself!

    Ciao, Bastian

Boogy, I think you have is all intrigued on the "trivits" comment. Your stove matches the design on the box exactly, down to the curved pot stands. What are you hoping to do with replacement?

Sorry my comment about them being easy to make is because I’m a welder fabricator by day and are relatively easy to knock up. I’m thinking about new pot stands/trivits because there very old and rusted but I might leave the tanks as is(for the lived in look).

Fair enough. And since you can do better, it would be hard to look at the rusty ones!

Make new trivets makes sense, if you want use smaller pots, like the bialetti coffeemakers. I made some new for that reason.
The right 725 was painted with heat resistant colour.
