An early version of the No. 230 stove, no date code present, but it's probably from the period 1904/5 to 1910. More likely 1906-1907ish as per the discussion below. Findings are based on research conducted by Ian and a subsequent comparing of the pre-1911 230's currently present in the galleries. The 230 as a stove set was introduced in 1903/1904 per this catalogue. A very early bun feet example of the 230 was submitted by Takeshi here. This is possibly a V1, with W. Lindqvist PATENT stamped on the pump lid cover. In this thread here, Ian compares two pre-1911 stoves. His findings suggest there are subtle differences between these models; for sake of clarity I shall henceforth call them V2 and V3 respectively. The V2 version has the word PATENT on the tank top next to Made in Sweden. The earlier V2 PATENT version has an 'AKTIEBOLAGET PRIMUS' pump tube cap as well. Moreover, the V2 version has a simpler B.A. Hjorth stamped on the tank base (AKT. BOL. B.A. Hjorth on the V3) as well as having a different font. My example of the 230 stove has all of the characteristics of a 'V2'. Both stove and tin were imported by R. Melhuish of Fetter Lane, London. Included are 4 prickers, windshield and jet tool. My 230 together with my other 'Compact Outfits'.
