This is a rare type, it is a product of the transition period between 8 and 8R, I found that ccs lacks an example with the original box, so I posted it here. There is a red trademark sticker on the carton, and the model column reads 8R F. Where F represents the nickel plating of the tank. It comes with a description of the instructions for 1957 In order to adapt to the larger 8R stems and nozzles, Optimus redesigned the key and nozzle removal tools for the 8R When the 8 was upgraded to 8R in the mid-1950s, Optimus did not immediately create a new tin box for it, but instead used the last generation of 8 iron boxes, and the model number of the 8 was visible inside the iron box. There is a sticker labeled 8R on the outside of the iron box.
I have a 8RF box I obtained a few years ago. Guess I have the transition stove w/sticker too like yours. Never can remember all the details of my 8, 8F and 8R collection. Duane
