Equipped with a ceramic burner too. That's it with the trivet removed, which just clips on. Regulator knob and piezo ignition button. Refilling is intended to be done from a cigarette lighter refill cartridge but with the addition of a nitrile bush (from a Campingaz stove) it's possible to refill the tank from a bayonet-fitting canister. Of course, the stove doesn't have to be dismantled to refill the tank, but I dismantled it nevertheless, intrigued by the workings. The valve has those two arc-shaped ports which respectively connect one fuel tank gas inlet and outlet to recharging valve and feed to the regulator and jet. The outlet on the tank is equipped with a filter which I believe has a primary pupose not to filter the fuel but to prevent liquefied fuel reaching the jet ... ... which is also equipped with a piece of the same porous material to make doubly sure. This device limits the maximum flame output (Ronson cigarette lighters had something similar), adjusted by a screwdriver when installed in the valve block. A label on the base ... ... specifies a tank capacity of 40g of fuel. A little less than a Campingaz Rando fuel cartridge's 52 grammes. Camp stove or home hotplate? Well, its small size, low profile and stuff sack suggests an outdoor role would be ok - with suitable windshielding. The burner output on max is impressive ... ... and there's a useful simmer setting. It certainly brought this kettle to the boil pretty quickly. John
Very nice find, John. It has a great size and shape made possible by the horseshoe shaped fuel tank. It will be interesting to see how much shielding it will need when used outside.
Next 'outing' that'll be the one I take along, Trevor. Manufactured in 2005 so not all that old, but I've not seen another. Like buses, two more will probably follow directly on behind ... John
Interesting device. I wonder how much thermal feedback the tank gets, being wrapped around the burner. Possible help with low temperature operation? Looks like something for a brew out on the patio among polite company.
We have one of these, never known how to refill it. Do you know where I can find the nitrile Bush to fill this beauty? Kind of can't wait to get it working now that I have seen your remarkable post. Thanks
It doesn’t have to be the Campingaz item, which is a spare I’ve not seen available for a number of years. A 3-4mm thick disc or square of a rubber material with a 3mm hole punched in it would serve. Or, just use a butane lighter refill cylinder as it was intended should be used.
@David Riley Have a look at the bottom of this post: Camping Gaz Rando 360 The cannisters are still available for around 11$ Campingaz CGI CV 360 gaspatron 52 g m. sikkerhedsventil
@Harder D. Soerensen I included a photo of the Rando gas cart in my original post as a size comparison Harder, but the Enders isn’t actually fuelled by the Rando cartridge. John
