ALUMINIUM CASED PATENT OPTIMUS 8

    Optimus applied for the patent for this type of stove on 28 September, 1927. I do not know the patent period at that time however I think that at present it is 20 years. This case is marked with the patent number so must have been made before 28 September 1947.

    The stove was bought from France so it is possible that the aluminium case was used for the French market. It does not appear to have been used for stoves originally sold here.

    This looks very similar to the plated cased 8 also posted but the other case is steel and this one is definitely aluminium
