I have finally unscrewed the NRV in a Radius No 1, but the bloody thing won't fall out of its spot at the end of the pump tube, even with some gentle tapping with a mallet. It turns freely but is still down the bottom!

I was considering getting a pressure pump and pressurising the tank to 'blow' it loose? Is that a mad thing to do?

And what would be the maximum pressure to apply without blowing the tank?

I've managed to get a pair of forceps that would fit down a pump tube to get stuff out like the NRV. They lock and would be able to remove it, unless your NRV is still stuck into the bottom plate of the tube and the plate has come loose. Sometimes the NRV has so much gunk on it, that you have to yank it out.

Here's mine as I operate on the Lion R124 Hiker:

Ive done this with blue tack, The blue smurf poo your kids use to put posters on the wall, I put some in the end of the nrv tool and tightened the nrv back down, Then pushed down on the nrv head with the nrv tool with blue tack in it then carefully unwound the nrv and kept turning it while ever so gently and slowly pulled it out, Its worked several times now and the smurf poo is easy to pick out. Good luck.

I'll give that a go... I've got a big lump of yellow tack right here. I'll let you know how I go.

    Hi
Two things to try, poke a bamboo skewer into the hole in the end of the NRV and pull it out.
Or blow it out with air, don't need much pressure an airbed pump will do.
As unkindly mentioned by Ross Here

I've blown a couple of NRVs out with compressed air. One flew out some 15 feet!
