How to clean the rust off the inside of the legs? How to clean the rust inside the burner port screw threads on the top of the tank...?
The current owner says "My guess is that it may have been brought from Germany, in 1959, where my father served from 1954 to 1959."
I believe the model number is K3. The stamping under the yellow helps to date the stove . Evapo-rust will remove the rust but I'm not sure if it will remove the brass plating.
@Neil Humphris Brass plated steel is quite common. The way I read the sticker details the stove was manufactured between 1956 and 1960. This date ties in with the family history of being in Germany between 1954 to 1959. So we can narrow the date down to 1956 - 59
уточнить, как владелец этого баI clarify how the owner of this tank .. the tank was brought in 1960, the new year of which my parents celebrated in Potsdam, as evidenced by photographs
Это событие произошло в Потсдаме, где руководство былоwas the occupation troops of the USSR in Germany They celebrated the new 1960, in which after the end of the service my father and our family left for the BSSR city of Gomel, where I live to the present.
На первом фото справа вторая женщина, моя мама, окружена коллегами по работе.In the first photo on the right, the second woman, my mother, is surrounded by friends-workers of the KGB of the USSR. The photographs were made from negatives preserved in my father's archives.
В результате частичной очистки дна резервуара я удалил часть ржавчины с помощью химических средств.As a result of partial cleaning of the bottom of the tank, I removed some of the rust using chemical agents, as a result of which it turned out that the bottom of the tank is a puff cake made of steel and brass Metal, I'll attach a photo now, I can someone advise on how to fill the recess in the tank.
Есть еще следы ржавчины, что я старThere are still traces of rust, which I will try to remove at a later time. Thank you for the attention of everyone to whom my answer reaches, which I doubt a little.
The yellow triangle with "1" was a quality class sign in the GDR meaning: "Standard class, suitable for the world market". The triangle with "S" meant "Sonderklasse", a first class label mainly used for export products. The "S" was in use until September 1960 and then replaced by a non triangle sign with the Letter "Q" with inscripted "1". There was also a triangle with "2" for lower quality products (used until 1970) It seems that your stove had been downgraded from S to 1. Produced for export, but later (1960) labeled for the home market, maybe because of the steel tank. There are also some BAT stoves with brass tank and steel bottom, I own one. They need special care because they tend to rust from insinde to the outside. Keep it as a shelf queen, there are not so many BAT stoves with paws feet! Radler
