    Have you run it?

    Fearsome buggers when they're going!

Funny you should ask that ...... :D/

Had it lit a few times before (got it from Ebay late last year ) and have finished sorting leaky dry gaskets out etc ...

Good fun and frightens young children and old folks alike

    Hi

Have fed over 400 hungry airmen on exercise with several of these dug into trench's & covered with steel plates, enough airborne stew to feed the five thousand & still have 12 norgies left over!!

Have you seen one of these attached to a trombone burner, a sort of Heath Robinson emergency diesel burning monster used when the petrol ran out.

I used one at RAF Hullavington when i was with RAFMCSU, they showed us how to cook on a box of swan vestas & half a birthday candle ,i was also duty chef at the last supper & yes Judas was a tit!!!

    Best regards Stu  :D :D .

So as memory serves, these were first built by Rolls Royce as jet thrusters for JATO units in the 60's right? Not sure why the flames come out sideways, though. Must make it hard to keep the soup in the pot laying it on its side like that.

Holy Sh*t. If even thought of bringing one of those home and firing it up I think that I would be sleeping on the couch for a long, long time.

It's a car tyre fitting. If the tank isn't full it can take a quite a bit of pumping. A 12v tyre inflator gets it up to pressure PDQ. :D

To be honest it doesnt seem to take much more pumping than the Swiss army (Benzin kocher) double petrol burner i had for a short while ....

However we and some of the bunch of old landrover owners are heading away camping to this place (http://www.shellisland.co.uk/) plenty of space to spread out
AND i intend to sneak the No1 burner into the ex mod Sankey trailer behind the ex mod landrover (see a theme developing here ???) along with the camping stuff,5 dogs etc ,
and dig a trench and cook on it ......

    Watch this space ;)

The very fine gentlemen of the 29th Field Kitchen always do the cooking at the Zonnebeke Living History event, using their Soyer cookers. Very nice! :D/

    Regards,

    Wim
