A long, long time ago Sweden bought 80 Centurion Mk III tanks (1953). The tanks came directly from Brittish stores of fully equipped tanks. Sometime during the years up to the first half of the 60:s things happened to these tanks..... The Tanks were changed and upgraded from "strv 81" to "strv 101", a lot of uninteresting stuff was thrown away and guns were changed. The interesting stuff was that the tanks were originally delivered with Army No:2 unmodified stoves, these stoves were deemed unnecessary and they were removed........ As far as I know the stoves just went missing as interesting stuff does, most were probably thrown away......

This stove was put away somewhere for some decades and found its way into my grubby hands. Since it was apparently unfired I quickly remedied the situation before I got second thoughts. Being ex army I would not like to lug this beast around on my back, but it is a lovely stove!

    Happy Jule from Lars!

Nice find, and as you say certainly not backpacking material but would survive just about anything.

Centainly in far better condition than mine, which is mainly used as the Colemen oven driver.

It's really nice to know the provenance of a particular stove.
