After replacing the usual things it worked well. I did not have the tin it came in so made a box. It was missing the spaner and bung to stop it leaking so made them. Here it is. Cheers Rob
Hi @Robert Bruce Good looking Burmos No. 51 stove with impressive home-made case and fuel/ primer fluid containers. Great work! https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/1953-bukta-catalogue-burmos-stove-prices.24368/ Best Regards, Kerophile.
Kerophile the fluid containers I made from some brass and copper sheet, I ran out of brass so the second one has the body of copper. I used the lids from some rusted Bren Gun Oil bottles. So the brass one is for kerro and the copper one is for meths. The spanner is 5mm sheet cut to shape and Burmos stamped on it. The box is of maple, I had some off cuts of the right size. In all the design is to fit everything in and not rattle. The size of it all is not much better than no.1 a little shorter but much wider, no gain really. Just like the exercise of making it. The original tin would be much smaller, eneyway I did not get one with it. Cheers Rob
Oh yes the plug is from a carburettor, it came from my box of stuff so don’t know what make, the thread and taper was perfect. I see from the link you sent it came in a box, it would be interesting to know if it was steel or wood. Cheers Rob
