Picked this one up a couple years ago now at the local swap meet. Someone before me had started a restoration I think?...and had given up after breaking off the two screws that hold the burner tube to the backing plate. Not really knowing for sure if everything was there just put my blind trust into what the guy selling it said. At this time I also knew very little about the early 1938 "L" lever 500. Basically brought it home and ended up researching it on here. Found out that my blind luck and ignorance had landed me a 1938 "L" lever 500 so was pretty happy with that. Only problem being that it was in real need of a restoration.

As found...should of taken a picture before I sprayed pen oil on those pesky broken off screws but was in a hurry to get moving on the resto. :)

Final product not perfect but at least back in working order. Paint already messed up from a few test fire burns. Pretty doesn't last very long! :(

One of the very first 500s and a very nice restoration indeed. Congratulations.
