    Bought this on ebay and used it on two camping trips. Likes to spill fuel after turning valve off onto the font. No pressure safety valve on this one. See photos. Base screw was stripped and loose from factory making pots almost fall over. Also, metal top peeled off a layer of paint on first few burns and it does not have a cleaning rod in the generator. Lastly, it appears to be missing the bottom burner ring. It burns very hot however, but this thing scares me. Can anyone spot any other differences?

    IMO, replace that with a Coleman 533, thank me later.

    It worked twice, that has to be a result of sorts. :)

    I've still to throw a match at the BRS 12.

    Listen to to your inner gut feeling. If you don’t trust it - don’t use it (or at least only use it, while under adult supervision... having a PLAN B in case it goes sour).

    I have a new old stock 502 that I love, it just doesnt have the BTU output that this thing has. Ever since I rebuilt it, it has been running better without flareups at the beginning and after shutdown (still a ticking time bomb). I really wanted to put this up here to warn people against buying it. Spend the extra 10 bucks and save a trip to the emergency room.

    Find a 400. Boatloads of heat while simmering nicely. Common on CL/Offerup/Ebay.

    @HappyCamper7

    Thanks for the write up, pictures and your thoughts.

    I, for one, find the Chinese quasi-copies of Coleman (and other western) designs curious and interesting is a twisted-cynical way. Outward appearances are often similar and suggestive but certainly not exact copies. Inner workings are functional, without superfluous quality, and with no effort to include safety features that might cut into profit. A business model that is not unique to China and works well in our global use-and-dispose economy. And, almost impossible to avoid at this point.
