You've excelled yourself with that find, Nick. It'll stand out in a crowd of Optimus 111's sure enough.

    Er, does it work?

Oh, and what's that gadget to the right of the Svea on your bench top? Brass thing, looks like a jeweller's blowlamp, sort of.

Hi John thanks, I cannot believe how lucky I was, it was sitting in a bucket under a bench at the fair I was at, something about the shape alerted me to it
I thought it was 111 or no8 or something.

The brass device it a very early Japanese butane lighter that I found at a boot fair, probably pre war but I am not sure about that, its marked Jinkorukiu Japan I have only seen one other on the web.

    Cheers nick

Wow, those Campus stoves are pretty amazing. Nick, you've got a very good example of one. The stamping in the case is very cool. I like it a lot.

And, to have the paper work too. What a bonus!

    Thanks for sharing,
    sam

Got to agree with everyone else. Really like the aged & worn but well-cared-for look with that case.

Congratulations Nick on a outstanding score, I have not seen many of these beauties.
I all so agree with you keeping this one original, as it is used but it is clean and has been well looked after

I have never seen this stove and at first glance was in love with it an now I read how rare I a find it is. that saddens me as I am sure I will not most likely own one like this anytime soon if not ever. your the envy of us guys now with that nice little stove. goes to show that it pays off to search high and low.

    Hi Viscara and everyone else,

Thanks for all your compliments I am not sure I deserve them, I was just lucky! Hats off to Svea for making it!

I have wanted a Svea for some time and have been on the look out for a "normal " brass one with the king of stoves logo,I have not really looked at this type of stove seriously as to be honest they did not appeal to me. But seeing one close up and personal has really changed that!

I wish I had a few more that I could let you guys have and enjoy.

Just keep your eyes open and you never know what you will find.

    Cheers again Nick

Very nice stove. Congrats, I'm a big fan of the boxed tin stoves.
    How about some flame shots?
