As seen on the attached flyer. Stovies, lamp looms, and lantern junkies unite. post questions here or PM me. Warm Regards Randy Field.
Is there ANYONE within reasonable driving distance. Surprised this has had no replies. Aren’t we all campers here who like to play with fire?
Sounds great if I didn't have other commitments. I hope you get some participation. Some of the CASGs have shown us that a small get together can be as much fun as a larger one. Pinnacles (it's a national park, now) is really nice, and not all that far north. It's certainly within range of southern California stovies. Best wishes. ....Arch
Good Morning, @Randy Field , Randy, SB and I would LOVE to join you all! But, sadly, we already have work commitments that will keep that from happening. Pinnacles, as @ArchMc has so rightly said, it not that far from us. In point of fact, it's 334 miles North of us, which would be a 5 1/2 hour drive, each way. We've undertaken drives much longer than that to attend events, and if we didn't have to work, would gladly do it again, to attend your event!! Here's hoping you get a good turn-out, but one thing we've found, when putting on the CASG events, is that, most of the time, it's the same small group of good folks that support events like that, and attend. Most others would "like" to come, for either cannot do so, or will not drive very far to make that happen. So, please don't feel too bad if your attendance numbers are not huge. And, as Mac said, we have had some fine times at our events, even if the attendance is very small. Here's our happy group from CASG #7. Left to right: Mac, Mrs. Mac, Doc, and Sweet Bride. Our very small group had a fantastic time together! This was in JTNP at White Tank Campground. Mac and I fettled lots of stoves, and our Gals enjoyed other pursuits, and enjoyed relaxing. And, we cooked up some great food, took some very lovely and interesting hikes, and just enjoyed being together with dear friends!! Hopefully, your event will turn out wonderfully, and you'll have lots of attendees. If not, just enjoy those who DO make the effort to attend! We hope to be amongst them for a future event! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Well thanks so much Doc and Arch. I am expecting 8-12 from Facebook and Coleman Collectors Forum. Some will come for the day some for the weekend. I totally hear you on a small group being better. We do typically have 6 or so collectors and maybe a few satellite visitors so that is a good number of folks who all get to be involved an all the conversations. More than that and we tend to fracture into groups. Can’t wait as these are one of my favorite camps of the year.
