    I suggest it would be a French kerosene stove.

    Definitely French but the way the generator goes over the burner my guess would be gasoline like this Coleman:

    I am envious. Here in Canada we have had such a monoculture of stoves, unless one wants to buy from overseas in recent years thanks to online auctions. Sure, my parents (and grandparents, probably) got by very well with coleman products. But there is not much interesting stuff to be found in local sales in this area.
