Coleman 345 has always been my favorite Coleman stove. I have been looking for more than two years, and I finally have one. This model was designed by Coleman for nautical life. Let's first take a look at its appearance.

This unit is equipped with two aluminium frames marked BURNER UNIT NO.344.

The upper part is two separate stainless steel grills

When the grill is lowered, you can secure them with a locking device.

    4234DE12-192B-440C-AA52-B61D6167959F.jpeg

At this point, the two furnaces are also firmly fixed to the aluminum frame, they will be in their original position and will not move, whether it is transport or waves.

The side is cooled and ventilated, the aluminum frame design, materials and workmanship are very good.

I opened two stoves and cleaned them up.

The picture above is a detailed picture of the part of one of the stoves. The picture below is another.

I have assembled one before I want to take a picture, and the other is ready to wait for the final assembly state in the subcomponent.

In this picture, we can see that there are two round protrusions on the bottom of the aluminum frame, and their diameter matches the bottom of the tank.

This type of furnace uses kerosene as a fuel, which is relatively rare in Coleman stoves. It has a fast preheater that can easily heat the evaporator tube just like Petromax's fast preheater.

A rectangular copper plate is welded to the evaporation tube to help the evaporation tube collect heat.

This type of stove seldom uses rust prone iron parts, most of which are made of copper and stainless steel, and perhaps Coleman will consider the ship's environment. After assembly, it is a very beautiful stove.

The knob is the valve handle of the quick preheater.

    5CAA256A-D6B2-4EC7-ACA8-28E72E1BF841.jpeg

The flame of the rapid preheater will be ejected from the hole in the center of the burner, hitting the evaporation tube and radiating the flame to the copper plate.

    Open the quick preheater

    D1566B60-8CED-4C39-BED4-4E2DB8733468.jpeg

The main valve is preheated for approximately 60 seconds. If you feel that the fire is not high enough, you need to add air pressure to the tank because the quick preheater consumes compressed air from the tank. Everything is ready, you can cook at this time...

That is a real beauty. You did a great job of the photographs and the presentation.
I have seen one. They are as fine in person, too.

I don't know the specific production date of Coleman 345, but from the type of tank lid I guess it was produced in the 1950s. If a friend knows its specific production date, please let me know, thank you!

    Good Morning, @anfeng ,

Your presentation of this excellent stove, was also excellent, Sir!! Well done!! The last time I saw one of these stoves that was in the excellent condition of yours, was in the old Coleman Museum in Yucca Valley, CA!! That Museum is long gone, sad to say, but it was really a great place to see some of the best of the Coleman offerings!!

Thanks for your highly detailed post, and hearty congratulations on getting your lovely Coleman setup!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Hello Doc, the closure of the old Coleman Museum is a big loss for our stove lovers, although I have not visited it yet. Thank you for your evaluation of this excellent stove. May God bless you and wish you a speedy recovery!
