Coleman 424 generator out of alignment

    My Coleman 424 generator is out of alignment with the manifold. It came that way and over the years it has worked, but not well. I haven't used it much the last several years, but plan to use it more next summer. Would appreciate some tips on how to fix it.

    I don't see the problem? Are you concerned because it is not centered over the burner?

    Performance down because of the mis-alignment? It does look significantly out of alignment. I’d take a close-fitting wrench to the square projection on the valve and turn it (clockwise) into alignment.

    You’d be applying torque to tapered threads and there should be sufficient ‘give’ since it no doubt got nudged anti-clockwise from its original position.

    Thanks for the tip. It worked, but it did take quite a bit of torque to get it lined up. I plan to fire it up this weekend. Hopefully, there aren't any other issues. If there are, I will probably be back with more questions.

    It would, yes, I should have warned you! Still, job done.
