Hi All, I have just purchased a new house and this was sitting on a very high shelf in an outside pergola. Thanks to this forum I know it is a companion heater and stove. I am going to have to go on a treasure hunt to see if I can find any other parts but I think it looks like a fun project to bring it to life.
The height it was sitting I would think that this would be a bit useless in a Canberra winter but the shelf was certainly custom built for it. The pergola was built in about 1985 so I guess that may have been the last time in use and the crap and dirt all over it would attest for a long time between drinks for it.
I have polished just enough to start the detective trail and show up the brand marks I should expect to find - lots of work ahead. The SVEA crest is almost gone with time but I can just make out the outline.

Can anyone provide additional information for me about this model. It has all of the regular marks of the Companion stoves made under license from SVEA but the base is very different to other pictures on this site - much broader and quite heavy. Does that mean it is a later or early model?

Also is there a web resource I should go to first for spare parts or is it a case of members of this community hold all the parts and need to look in their sheds for parts?

Thanks for any and all help.

    Mark

I’ve got one in the shed, so I’ll take some photos in the morning and post here.

    Welcome to CCS @mwethers .

You have more than most when it comes to these stove/heaters.
I haven't seen that base before, what I have seen are cast aluminium.

New seals are available from The Fettle Box Kit E Optimus/Primus etc 2 pint 1, 5 etc - The Fettlebox
They also sell generic inner and outer burner caps.

    The domes are available.
Try Kerosene Lighting Melbourne – T W Sands & Co in Melbourne. They may also have the Companion inner and outer burner caps
    or here is one
    Primus Radiant Dome

or parts do show up on ebay from time to time.

You will probably have to make the dome support yourself.

I’ve finally dug a Companion heater setup out of the shed.

I’ll post it in the Reference Gallery and put a link to it here.
