Desca Alcohol Cooker

    This stove is from pre-unification East Germany & is produced by Desca. It would appear that Desca may have been owned by Camping Gaz International. If not, they may have just been a distributor. This is similar to some Turm & Vulcano models. The instructions also refer to a 2 burner model.

    It's been said that these stoves don't get very hot; I beg to differ! If you get one of these things used, and do a little maintenance on it, it'll burn nicely! When filled with spiritus, it burns for nearly an hour, and will boil a litre of water between 7 to 10 minutes. It's advisable to use a windscreen to provide some protection when using these stoves, for they can be a little unpredictable!

    I also have a very old Desca (I guess from around the fifthies) and it works very well ... I will post some pics of it.
