It took me yonks to find good pictures of the whisperlite in a trangia. Looks like a great set up. I would like to try it sometime, has anyone done it?

Here, try This Link.

What is a DIMS?

Looks interesting. I suppose if one can take Nova burners and such, why not a Whisperlite? Seems to fit well, and the burner "bell" (more like a pan actually) of the Whisperlite might prevent the Trangia's lower windscreen from melting.

Interesting, particularly since I've got a couple of spare Whisperlites.

I wonder where I can get a plate like that.

Not a bad price @ US 14++ Although am not inclined to use it on my Trangia.

If it is quite alright to put a Nova into a Trangia with an official adapter, why not this burner?
Or is it a problem because of the thin ultra-light material they are making the Trangia's of these days.
Thank goodness my T27 is not the latest version.

Without the ability to simmer, I dont see a lot of point. What do you gain over the existing Trangia alcohol burner?

Howdy, All,

Hummmm..... I am not sure why any one would want to put a Whisperlite in a Trangia setup, as the WPL does not simmer very well, at all! So, what's to be gained by doing this, that cannot be done with a better simmering stove, like the Nova (with silent cap), or Omnifuel (with silent cap), if that sort of thing is important to you? Just my two cents, but putting any WPL into a Trangia seems a huge waste of time, IF you want to get it to simmer at all, without also carrying a dedicated simmering plate. For what it's worth.... Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

just wondering, maybe i'm missing something,
but why wouldn't it be possible with a Nova (or any other modern stove for that purpose) ??

I think the answer is you have a triangia and whisperlite so why not. If you really wanted to Im sure a triangia could be married to a Handy Gas Plant but the Till death do us part might not be looking far in the future and the parting might not be that easy.
