New to me, servicing was minimal - needed a new O-ring seal in the burner screw cap

... and the bag for the burner and pot lifter ...

... had some handy camping memorabilia enclosed, the tin-opener marked 'WD-1976'

Flip up, clip-on simmer ring burner type

Some comparisons with a modern Trangia 25 - happens to be a duossal set.

Loads more holes in the modern lower windshield to accommodate various butane and liquid-fuelled burner options

No lugs to interlock with upper windshield

Beefier riveted strap lugs on the older model as opposed to stamped, pressed-out type

    Burner differences

Much thinner gauge metal pans (particularly so in the case of the duossal type here)

Still, a Trangia's a fine device, whenever it was manufactured

Great Trangia John. That generation, bar the simmer ring, is the best of them as far as I'm concerned.
