I'm impressed with the Hyperlinked Index, and the many updates since it's launch:
A research tool used in conjunction with CCS are 2nd to none !!!
I would be remiss not to mention dedication of Ross and others to maintain and upgrade/improve the site.

For the Index it is Trevor's generosity and dedication to the site/membership and our hobby that I appreciate and I'm very impressed with.

I'm likely as familiar as anyone (and I don't know the half of it ). I know this index was hard earned. Any description I attempt will not do it justice. Trevor myself and many others researchwed models on site prior to this index. The advanced functions of site search was/is good but with that we can recall it could be hour(s) spent searching ("sometimes" to realize no details have posted on CCS, yet).

Using the index is an enormous time saver.
To get us where we are Trevor researched each item to sort the details. He has achieved for fellow stovies, the desired result and the reliable and effective reference tool that it is. I expect he alone grasps the complexities involved w/creating it and I'd wager few grasp the enormity and breadth of stove models there in (it's amazing and growing w/each update!!). A thank you and KUDOS to Trevor!!!

I'm impressed with new addition of "Sub-Forum" pull down options.
I may never grasp how/if features work w/handheld devices but
I praise this improvement from view of larger devices (maybe the larger your screen the better, which is true for CCS users anyway).
    Thank you Ross.

Comment, use of the pull-downs illustrates to users how cleverly the site's content is organized (a teaching moment, if you will). Granted, this was/is also the view when using advanced search functions. The site search is excellent, not sure how many use it's full potential. thx again, omc.

    FEEDBACK
I am impressed with CCS search function and how google friendly it has always been.

There is sooo much progress and maintenance with site admin that is transparent to users.
    :clap::clap::clap:

Today I share what "i think" is a search upgrade (very helpful for collector site).
It may have been in place years ago but users likely would not have noticed. I noticed today.

Aside from i find all the "tracking of searches" a tad scary...
    to see what i mean
enter Valmet in CCS search box
result will include thread: "Seen something interesting on an auction site?"
if you click on that it takes you to exact related comment

HOWEVER... I never typed in Valmet . "Valmet" text is not present in my thread.
(you can test this yourself with text within other images).

So, doing a CCS search for certain text is finding more results because it now
"somehow" is ALSO finding text inside of images.
    -----------------------------------

What always draws many new readers to the site is due to "CCS search" is google friendly
(iirc site used to credit google (w/google logo) related to CCS search)

I expect text within an image might now also direct even more google search results to CCS.

The biggest problem I have searching for things is remembering the name of the bit I am after!

I agree, search function is fantastic on CCS. I'm on a couple other forums and their search functions are USELESS.

There really needs to be a "buy Ross a pint" button.

    Edit:

I'd also like to add that the long standing membership here is fantastic as well. A newcomer can pull up a thread from ten years ago about an obscure stove, thanks to the great search function and google interface, post a question about something similar they just found in their attic, and the original poster from a 10 year old thread may well respond!

    This is flat out amazing!

We also have a very kind and warm hearted group here. We have our disagreements, but we're all on the same team and help each other out in the end. Again, I'm on other forums, and on one of them in particular, if you disagree with the group, you'll essentially get kicked in the teeth on anything about the subject of the forum itself. They really chase away a lot of good knowledgeable people because of thin skin or just plain don't want to deal with the hassle. It'll eventually be the end of that forum. Very glad that's not the case here.

Glad you like the search! I did invest in an enhancement to the regular search function. Don't ask me how it works though!

Easy to use search here..better than most.
However do moderators ever read comments from posters who want an obvious error corrected on their own posts or once posted it is now set in stone even if incorrect??

Report your own post and it'll for sure get someone's attention. Whether they make a change is up to them.

Generally we see a comment in the thread since we try to read everything, but it's better to do as Marc suggest; use the report button.
If you comment about wanting your post editing in the thread, we also need to remove that comment to clean up, and possibly following comments from others on that subject.
