I found this at a flea market close to where i live, the owner of the store asked for $70 but I offered him $30 and he said sold :-D It was in bad shape but all parts was there even the original wrench.. I took it home ad cleaned it well before i used paint stripper on the box. Then i painted it with a heat resistant bright red color (same as the original) and baked it in my kitchen stove for 45 min at 250 deg C.... (yes, my wife was not at home) As usual I used the "Brasso" metal polish and gave everything a nice clean.. I can't find so much information about this "Høvik Standard no 43" anywhere, except some few pictures here in CCS, does anyone know if this is a rare stove?
Beautiful and indeed rare stove! You are missing the carrying handle/locking mechanism though. Can you post the dimensions of the case? To me it looks like Høvik 43 and Max Sievert Campus 4 use the same case... (They look like clones anyway...)
H= 100mm. W=160mm L=180mm. The edge around the box are 5 mm thick.. Im just sitting here trying to figure out how the locking mechanism looks like, can't find any good pictures on the net, maybe someone have any good idea? The 3 tubes where the locking handle are mounted measures Left and right one = 28mm, the center one = 19mm. The diameter of the hole are 4,6 mm.
Yes, the max Sievert Camus 4 and the Høvik 43 are quite similar :-) thanx :-D have to go to my workshop tomorrow and see if I can make a new handle/ locking mechanism :-D
