    Hey.
    Has this Hasag wick stove.
Can anyone here at CCS help me with identification?
It lacks the wick, can it be obtained, and where?
I will be happy for information on it.
Thanks and good day to all.
    Tom

I’m not familiar with that particular stove but the design incorporating concentric perforated burner cylinders is common to other brands I have, such as Chalwyn.

I can’t tell from the photos (unscrewing the burner from the fuel tank and peering inside would reveal the arrangement) but I assume it’ll have a cylindrical wick with a metal ladder rack mounted in it to engage with a toothed pinion on the wick raiser spindle.

I buy wicks from the Base Camp but there are other sources of course. The diameter would be determined by the wick mount.

    Thanks for the answer.
I have tried if I could find something, and have talked to hytta.de in Germany.
Coincidentally, he himself had a similar one, so I think the problem is solved this time, otherwise I will return.

    Hey.
Sends just a few pictures that you might be able to see something from.
I'm having trouble finding head and tail in the website you referred
to. If you can send me a picture and possibly an order number
on the wick I will take you with me in my evening prayer.
    Sincerely
    Tom

You seem to have the right idea, of finding a tubular wick of that internal diameter to slide up and down (controlled by the wick raiser rack/cog) on the centre draught tube.

Here’s an equivalent, a Parasene wick stove.

I don’t have access to a parts catalogue for the stove, so I’m unable to.

You need to have a discussion (maybe swap emails) with a supplier such as Base Camp, because wick and wick carrier are needed. The pitch of the ‘rack’ holes is a factor, but there’s a lot of clearance in a mechanism of that sort, so it shouldn’t be critical.

Thank you so much John for your great work in explaining to a beginner how a wick stove works.
    I really appreciate it.
Lovely informative with all the pictures.

    You’re most welcome @Tom Pedersen

Good luck in your search for a wick and wick carrier to fit your Hasag. It’s a design that puts out a lot of heat. Clean blue flames, chimney internal components glowing red, a silent, odourless powerhouse.

    Hello John.
    Thanks for your help.
I have now got my Old Hasag to work.
Had a conversation with hytta.de who had the wick, it
was too big though, but my wife is good at a sewing machine so she coped with the problem.
I made the wick carrier myself from a metal bottle that fit the dimension..
The Hasag is incredibly effective, and boils 1 liter of water on
    a little over 3 minutes.
Best regards and thanks for all your help John.

    Hi Alan.
    I do not understand.
I see them clearly on my PC.
I'm trying to upload the pictures again in the order mentioned.
    Hope it is better.

    Hey.
    Firefox is probably the problem.
Have seen several posts here on CCP that the site here has issues with Firefox.

It could well be, but what puzzles me is that it is only some images that don't show. So I am puzzled what setting needs 'fine tuning'. If the images have been uploaded to CCS, then they should be the same as all others that show.So I am assuming that something about those images is causing the problem (NOT saying it's the images fault, just it seems reasonable to see whats different with them). @Tom Pedersen could you pm me a copy of the images? Perhaps I can trace what is causing the problem. That way it takes this off the thread.
