Sounds good, we might be able to organize a north island meetup someday! I remember that the member johnsnz was quite active when I joined on here, but havent seen him here active for some time.
No idea when, perhaps in another 6 months or so over the summer? Looks like alot of us are few and far between the country.
I've stayed at the Wellington/Seaview Top 10 Holiday park before whilst waiting for crossings. Busy and maybe not quite the setting, but reasonable place and rates, whether a bunch of pyromaniacs suit their preferred clients profile I don't know, they've put up with this one GPA'ing a dinner a couple of times. Just throwing ideas out. Wouldn't you all like to come somewhere warm like.... Northland lol
Dry Creek and Kaitoke are Doc camping areas with limited facilities. The gem though would be Catchpool although if anyone wanted collecting from the Ferry/airport its a long way
The joys of living in Wellington for 39 years. Of course it took 37 of those to escape to Christchurch
@geeves I am glad that you escaped, though I like Wellington, I have only been there once on a bad day. I arrived there one evening 45yrs ago driving my 1937 Ford V8, I pulled into a service station in the middle of town almost out of gas, I opened the door and it was almost torn from my hand. The strongest wind that i have ever experienced. Trying to do the maths though, 39yrs? and you spent 37 of those trying to escape? so you started trying to get out at the age of two? Tough life for a growing boy.
