Having struggled for ages to fit a new nipple to my Primus no. 5 roarer I finally gave up the fight and bought a new burner from Julian Shaw. In the process I bought a silent burner for it as well. Interestingly, the nipples I also bought from Julian did fit on without much of a fight but would not support a burn after the preheat died out.

While burning it in I dug out the last new nipple from a repair kit & had a fiddle with the original burner. Sod's Law rules of course - after a few false starts the nipple caught the thread & I managed to slowly tighten it down. And there she goes.... I suppose I'll have to get another stove now ;-)

You can probably go home with a boot full if you pop into Newark. :)
