proof optimus have bad days may have been built by trainee or quality control were away its a nice looking stove but---the solder everywhere looks very rough i have had it running but it has problems in the burner too the riser is that badly machined i cant get it leakproof and the thread for the jet leaks badly IMG_20200124_203414.jpg IMG_20200124_203453.jpg IMG_20200124_203436.jpg IMG_20200124_203503.jpg IMG_20200124_203559.jpg

I had a Primus 210 that seemed to leak everywhere. I tried everything I could do and finally gave up and sold it. It needed more talent than I had.

I eventually got it working and it is quite a little powerhouse but it is only suitable for short runs as the heat buildup in the tank sees it too hot to safely add pressure when it has run a while seems my op 22,s and 111,s are still my best stoves for using my stove top ovens which normally require longer run times

They can get hot but I don't think they get too hot if nothing is wrong. I've run them for quite a time cooking dinner outdoors without concerns. They will often get hot enough to keep more-or-less self-pressurized....

    Howdy, Garth,

Like Ed, I've never had an Optimus 00 get so hot that it caused concern. What size pot have you been using? if it's too large, it "might" reflect extra heat down onto the stove. In any case, I've never had any 00 so hot that I could not pump it up whenever I wanted. Hmmmmmm......? I wonder what's up with your stove?

It hasnt done more than make coffee, i bought it unused but took a long time getting it running as it needed lid seal and the riser machined so the burner could actually seal on it, poor thing is that badly assembled it doesnt sit properly upright on a flat surface,it surprises me it was allowed to leave the factory in that state.I'll keep it as a curiosity but not a user
