    Hail!
I tread upon your land and walk among your people.
Fear not for I expect no challenge.
If we meet, do so heartily and wholly.
When we part, do so with affection and reflection.
    Hail!
    I walk among you.

I'm sure the pictures will start coming very soon once everyone has unpacked & had a good nights sleep.

This years event was the biggest yet & despite thunderstorms the weather on balance was pretty good. Weather & numbers aside everyone seemed to have a great time which is what it's all about.

This year we had visitors from New Zealand (Robtz), Germany (Roland & Klaudia) & Belgium (Wim) plus from Thailand, Col Sun & wife(?) - sorry didn't catch your name  who visited on both days. Great effort! Special thanks to @Robtz for helping me set up & dismantle the display etc & sterling duty keeping the tea & coffee coming over the weekend!

Many thanks to everyone who attended.

We also had the Stove Wanging contest in memory of Bryan Miller & raised £55 for St Oswalds Hospice in Durham & thanks to donation of stoves to sell from @salan3 & Geoff Boyling we also raised £37 for Help for Heroes.

@Simes & @Sarah Foley did an excellent job again with their pizza oven & mine was honestly the best pizza I can remember having & we even had free ale with the pizzas courtesy of Terry aka @Trojandog & Roland aka @rollschmidts & Klaudia from Germany. This raised a goodly sum for a Prostrate cancer charity. Apologies I forget the sum raised but @Sarah Foley can remind us!

    Well done everyone!

It was a real pleasure seeing everyone & looking forward to next year.

A great weekend as usual Ross @Spiritburner, I'll let @Sarah Foley give the final figure that was raised for Prostate Cancer Charity, 36 pizzas in a single oven was a bit of a marathon effort but fun and worthwhile. Hopefully Terry @Trojandog will have his oven working for next year if everyone would like us to do it again.

I afraid my pictures will be much later as I still have to finish the roll of film off and then get them printed and scanned. :-({|=

Special mention to the Geniol fettling team, @shagratork, @David Shouksmith, @presscall et al, every day was a learning day. As usual simple problems compounded by the simple owner.

Myself and @presscall will be approaching the UN to declare a small section of Smeaton Lakes rally field as a Paraffin Free State. :D Although I'm not sure what Archie's Dad will be making of Archie putting TLUDs on his next letter to Santa.

I finally got through my front door about 11.30 pm, pizza making is very messy and I wasn't in any fit state late Sat to do anything about it. Although my journey was less eventful than Sarah's was, as she got a lift for the final 38 miles with a very nice recovery man, no spare wheel in the Aygo. :(

And a final thanks to @Harder D. Soerensen for shipping the SVEA range in time for it to make an appearance.

Looking forward to next year already. :content:

@Spiritburner ..... yet again another great weekend, my mate Fiona (with the 3 bulldogs) said she had a fantastic time and was in awe of how welcome she was made to feel.

The total amount for Prostate Cancer UK was £117.00. A big thank you to everyone.

This is one happy chap at the end of Saturday

The bar was set high this year for attendance (new faces and visitors from abroad) and weather. The two or three hours when there was a thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon I spent sheltering in amicable conversation with @Wim in his Primus gazebo ...

As @Simes has said, he and I were mostly into wood-burning. Here’s his modified Chinese Lixada in simmering mode.

Night descended at our last night at the Fettler’s Arms for this year ... can’t wait for 2019. Thanks all (and Ross the architect of it all) for making it such a phenomenally enjoyable event, one to treasure.

    Hi @Harder D. Soerensen

Not yet I'm afraid, although picked up a couple from Ross. We did use the stove on a couple of occasions for breakfasts but spent quite a bit of time burning wood with John. :)

I'll let you know when I've done it and if it makes any difference. Just seemed to be running a little rich and pricker rather loose.

Just a quick update for those that know us.
After Newark, we went down to Norwich for three days. Had a great time ( except for two bad insect bites that have turned a bit nasty).
We are now in Letchworth having just finished setting up. Steaming hot day. Cold cider in hand, wondering which wine to ooen layer lol. Here until Saturday. Then back up to Stafford for the last stop of the holiday.

@salan3 What on earth possessed you to go to Letchworth, first garden city I admit but zero places to drink.Famous for making bras.

@presscall , what do you think of declaring an independent state next year?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhzivland

We can print off passports for stamping, you can even vote for yourself as president.

I'll draft a constitution and leave you to do the flag. Border controls we'll have to arrange later. 'Fire' could be the national anthem.

Bioliteland seems a bit obvious at the moment, what do you think?
