Ok. Unfortunately this event is cancelled for 2020. A lot of similar meets doing the same. Sorry to disappoint those who were planning to attend. I'm in a high risk category myself which I generally refuse to acknowledge & I appreciate so are a lot of other attendees.

Hopefully we can pick up where we left off next year. If it looks like we will go through a repeat of the expected cycle next year I'll likely change the date for 2021.

Let's be safe & use the self-imposed isolation to crack on with some fettling!

I'm happy to see we're not all crammed in the panhandle again - looking forward to it!

I saw Trevor's son, Daniel, a couple of weeks back. He's currently sorting out Trevor's stoves and there was a modest collection in the corner of the lounge. I think these must have been only the ones that were around the house and the vast majority are still lurking in the garage. Our current plan is that I bring them down to Newark for disposal, all proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. Rather than spend all weekend haggling over prices, my current thought is to divide them into maybe 3-4 'price groups'; once you've make the appropriate donation to the BHF, you then have your choice of stove from that group. To me, that seems an eminently sensible way to proceed but I'd value anyone's thoughts... :)

P.S. It's my 70th birthday on May 28th so some sort of celebration seems in order... :D/

Seems like a good plan, David.

P.S. It's my 65th on June 2nd so some sort of celebration may well be in order. :D/

The event is still hopefully going ahead but the situation will be reviewed in the coming weeks as it seems the UK peak for Coronavirus will be around this time.

We might have to limit numbers to below 500 this year. :)

... and stipulate a 2-metre ‘personal space’ one mustn’t enter.

I can imagine there will quite a number of regulars who fall into the social distancing for 13 weeks group.

We were actually going to go this year; we haven't been back to the Isles for a few years now and we wanted to base in Devon this time, such a great place that we haven't been to in over 30 years. Then we'd head north for this and that and Newark.

I was just getting off my duff to get tix a few weeks back when the bride cautioned me to wait and see....then, alas.

Going to try hard to make it next year. (God willing and the creek don't rise.)

I’m sorry to hear that Ed. I’d have liked to shake your hand - which in itself appears to be frowned upon at the moment. Next year would be good.
