Yes, another excellent event and thanks to all for attending and for your friendship and good humour. Special thanks to Ross of course for making it all possible.

I was in all honesty fully into being ‘in the moment’ with my companions to find time to take many photos, but here’s a few.

Beer for the duration, upstaging my Buflam/Tilley and Optimus/Tilley stove/lamp convertibles.

Me grinning like I’ve already started to consume them and selfie with a tipsy slant in the best real ale shop in Newark. Richard the proprietor watching indulgently.

Mike, who I first met last year, combined attendance with his other hobby of collecting USA manufactured cast iron woodworking machinery and picked up a WWII era Walker Turner bandsaw brought over for D-day preparations.

Posed there with just the motor and mount, the whole of this occupied most available space in his Peugeot.

Steve had a wry sense of humour to have this rubbing shoulders with a site full of fiery things.

A Pigeon wine cellar lamp if I’m not mistaken, Stesco and Svea 123R in shot.

Steve’s cooking arrangements are impressive …

Stepping into his museum-quality exhibit is evocative of being invited into a gentleman’s study from bygone times.

My first visit, great to meet so many people in person at long last!

Almost overwhelming- similar to the vintage rallies and steam fairs I used to frequent in terms of a wonderful array of kit on display, but the level of friendliness, interest in each other and the closeness of the stove/lamp/vintage camping community made this something else entirely.

Glorious atmosphere at dusk from the displays, the wafts of paraffin smell from constellations of hurricane lamps, the warmth of multiple Tilleys on display, the drama and comedy during attempts to get the Oxo burner running, the simple joy of watching scenes from the past re-enacted like Dean's cooking on 96 and 00 outside his Black's Tinker. And Ian's small collection of wonderful domestic stoves were an utter joy to see, I could have spent hours just looking at them if it wasn't for other distractions!

Huge thanks to @IRM for making it possible with the lift, most excellent company and sharing his evolving and efficient cooking setup, @Dean for the loan of tent pegs and lots of laughs, Ross for making it all happen, and everybody else who made it what it was. Apologies if I didn't say hello or only spoke briefly- so much to see and do. Here's to next year!

    These may be some duplicates but I see the Gloria didn't attach. So trying again 20240607_220153.jpg 20240607_220419.jpg 20240607_220532.jpg 20240607_220553.jpg 20240607_220901.jpg 20240608_202011.jpg 20240608_222938.jpg 20240608_235658.jpg

What a great event! Already looking forward to next year & thinking what to take. Thanks to everyone who attended & for the many great displays. One of the highlights for me was Duncan's home made stove shelter & gimbaled Trangia.
