    Hi all. I bought this old Companion some time ago. I was going to relegate to the parts shelf but then I noticed the below markings on the bottom of the fount. Is that a Dept. of Defence mark? Any info would be appreciated. Think I’ll be tidying it up and using it if it is. I have the silent burner for it, somewhere...

    Thanks
    Andy.

    Yes. That is an Aussie Department of Defence stamp.

    Nice find! I might have a burner for it in the shed. I’ll look tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Thanks Tony. I’ve got the burner for it though, no need to go looking for one.

    looking forward to getting it up and running...

    It has the SVEA shield on it. I’ve got three of them, all SVEA shields. Didn’t know there was a Companion shield. Thanks for the link! Apart from being Aussie made I don’t know much about them...

    @Frankarooney

    The SVEA shield was on the early production of the stove.
    SVEA shield with Dept. of Defense broad arrow could make it a WW 2 issue. :thumbup:
    I'm not sure when they changed the shield design.
