    Kinda a funny story
Last year I had an itch to fettle and I chose to disassemble my Pigeon Ignus. It had never been a good user, just a good collectable. I got involved with stuff and left it on my bench in pieces. Then I got involved in more stuff and quickly put it together and back on the shelf. In December there was a thread about the Ignus and I thought I would have a go at it again. Well! Taking it off the self I was shocked, shocked I tell you, that the spindle was not there!

So! A search of the bench and all surrounding spaces went on for an hour. Spot lights and magnets were involved. I gave up but would go back to looking whenever I was doing something in the shop.
This week I was doing a repair and took down the bin holding my machine taps. I poured them out on the bench and noticed an anomaly.

Sure enough, against the odds, my spindle had returned!
    Lesson learned?
    Maybe

I wonder how many threads you may have cut with that spindle ;-))

@Paul B That’s quite a tale. Easily done, misplacing parts, but the resemblance of the Ignus control spindle to a tap isn’t something anyone could anticipate. Well done you for finding it, hiding in plain sight.

Hopefully you’ll get the performance you want out of the Ignus.

I sure am glad to learn that I am not the only one who pulls stunts like that...

I think most of us have done something similar.
