    Hi All,

Last week I got a new member of family, Optimus 00.

    The bullet bag fits perfectly.

This bag is for PLA army 56 type machine gun bullets.

I agree, wonderful set of photos.

The bag/stove combination puts me in mind of the Primus cyclist’s outfit marketed in the UK in 1938.

Very nice post. I was enthralled with the dishes on the table and the stove.
Is that some kind of rice pastry in the front? (On your right side)

    Thank you,
    Ken in NC

Yes of course. They’re in the post HERE. Maybe you could construct an insert card to attach the parts to as in the Cyclist’s Outfit.

What we call steamed bread is made from wheat. Your bread looks like rice based.

Looks like char siu bao dough. Wheat flour but with cornstarch (cornflour in the UK) added. Makes it white and creates the required texture and the bread dough is steamed rather than baked.

I’m basing that on what I’ve heard from my Chinese-heritage colleague, whose Mum made the dumpling dough from scratch (but he’s never got around to it) and recollection of my trips to Japan - and Chinatown in Yokohama in particular.

    There’s a recipe HERE.
