    One of the designs used on Optimus 111 silent burners is a long skirt windshield.

    This windshield is made from seamless brass tubing with three lugs formed at the top, to allow the windshield to hang from the top lip of the burner.

    There are two cutouts in the skirt, extending upwards from the lower edge:

    The first, designed to clear the fuel feed tube is a segment of a circle, 30mm at its maximum, and extending 10mm upwards.

    The second cutout is 90 degrees anti-clockwise from this (looking from the top). This is a longer, narrower slot designed to clear the regulator spindle. This slot is 40mm long and 15mm wide.

    The principal dimensions of the long windshield are:

    Overall height = 58mm
    Diameter = 75mm
    Wall Thickness = 0.5mm

    The mounting lugs at the top are about 7mm long and 4mm wide.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    Hi, George,

    Excellent post! I've needed to come up with a few of these, but never thought about making one, myself. After reading your post, though, I may give it a go. Thanks, again, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Mark

    That's my favorite style of the 111T with the skirt and all. Makes it look more full and makes the burner stay primed (keeps the heat in during a cold evening).

    All of my 111Ts have this windscreen, I had thought the design was standard except for the 199 Ranger. I think it is time I bring one of these screens out and trace a paper pattern .
