    Hello- I am new to the forum and looking for an Optimus 155 kero for my newly acquired (but very old) Albin Vega 27 sailboat. I know very little about restoring these stoves, so would prefer to get one that has been restored.

    I have seen the "exploded view" of the stove, is there a source for these parts? Fettlebox?

    Is it possible to convert a 155A to kerosene?

    You would need the kerosene burners, which are available, but fairly expensive.

    There are a number of burners available on Ebay for much less money than the Hanse burners. Has anyone tried using them in the 155 or other stoves?

    Why would you go cheap on something that can burn your boat to the waterline?

    Sailing and cooking on a boat is always a balance of risk assessment. If there is any data about ebay burners failing and boats burning to their waterlines, I'd love to see it. I am a noob and have lots to learn.

    @stephen rinker

    The best thing would be to list the burners you are considering for the stove.

    There’s a lot of knowledge and experience here, and people will provide good advice if they know what repairs/alterations you’re considering.

    There are parts diagrams and other Optimus 155 materials in the Reference Library.

    Cheers

    Tony
