    Have been looking for a while to find a “Cookware Stove set”. Never knew about the 85/Loke before I saw this one for an OK price in a Danish “Classifieds”.

    It came with a tank almost full of smelly gas, so I rinsed the tank and refilled it with Kerosene due to the advice given in here.
    Changed seals. The dual NRV/SRV was a bit tricky to get in full function.

    After firing it up I realized, that it is quite a powerful burner with a great controllable simmer - given the overall size of the stove (see comparison to the Phoebus 725).
    Took 1 Litre of tab cold water and started the watch while having an open pot/no lid.
    After 3.45 minutes bubbles started to surface and at 5.30 - it was boiling nicely.
    I like the padded stuff-bag, which holds a square piece of sleeping mat for insulation when used in snow.

    The only pieces I miss is the small two-piece Pot-holder “X” and the two steel rods forming a pot-holder as well.
    I guess they are almost impossible to find, so I am going to try @gieorgijewski version (Thanks for inspiration) - If I can muster a suitable amount of patience.
    (I would be thankful If some had the spare rods or the pot-holding “X” for sale.)

    Next step should be a small try-out hike accompanied by some (pre-made) Texas Chaingang Chili with a bit of pasta on the side.

    Congratulations! You did it! Now your trips will be warmed with kerosene through the new 85th.

    Which heatshield?

    I can see at least two different cookware versions.
    The one that Doc Mark shows and the one I have (which is similar to the SWE Army version)
    You will notice some has a waffel-pattern pan and some a straight surface pan - as well as differences in the lower pot-stand.

    My guess is that mine and the Army version are the earlier versions, where the one shown above is the last version - after Optimus realized that it can run a bit hot on gas, they added an inbuild sort of a heatshield in the lower pot-stand.

    Looks like a nice set. I have an Optimus 77a I believe that I use often. Looks almost the same except an actual kerosene burner instead of a small alcohol burner. I guess a few holes I. The windscreen section is also different and probably general size too.
    But great set you scored! I’d love to own this set someday as I love complete sets that was sold as a kit versus putting together a cook kit. All in a padded case too!

    Harders version is the first version, later on they reintroduced the holder plate for the spirit burner so the Loke could use either burner. At that time they also introduced the cruciform potholder…

    My 85 Loke is the same as Harders…

    @Odd
    Thanks for claryfying - that was also my guess after comparing it to the SWE Army version.
    @AngryDaddyBird - thanks.

    Good idea with the holder plate - makes perfect sense.
    Now I just need to find the two potholders (the “X” and the two rods).

    There's what appears to be an unfired 85 Loke on Tradera in Sweden just now. International bidders accepted. It's Tradera number 346425818
    I wish it was mine… NFI etc.

    In fact there were two different Tradera auctions for new unfired 85 Lokes, ending just 143 minutes apart. The first one 346425818 sold for SEK 3383 with 35 bids - and the second one 346465759 sold for SEK 5100 with 72 bids! I wonder if any of them ended up here in this enlighted fraternity?
