B ought this a while back. Didn't think to much of it as I really wanted the pan set it was sold with as it was the flattest widest set I've seen, and is ideal for the bikes panniers.
Enough about that, here's what appears to be an 86 Vale.

I'm not sure if the frying pan is the right one as the pan set I bought at the same time is the same width as the 86? It is just a plain pan rather than a pattern stamped in, here's the pan set with the other lid.

Interesting! Not a lot of info on the 86 Vale out there.

I found one a while back, (posted about it here: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/18829

The differences I can spot apart from the frying pan is that mine has a smaller diameter burner.

Yours is obviously a proper Optimus, with the red nylon pouch and all, but possibly an early model?

The larger burner gives me that idea, and the pan, be it patterned or plain.

Perhaps the went from "purple flame"-style, with plain bottomed frying pan and large burner, and landed in the range of stoves (Loke,Trapper,Vale) that shared all parts save the burner/lower windshield. Your Vale would be a transitional model. Is the lower windshield aluminium? Almost looks like stainless?

    hi Psyen78
many thanks for the link to your stove, i wish i'd seen it before as I couldn't work out what stove this is, mine certainly looks very similar to yours,
the nice big sticker on yours made it a lot easier for you to identify it (plus no arguments if you decide to sell/pass it on), i didn't have a clue tbh
i did list it on ebay but now i know what it is i suppose it had better go back in the collection ](*,) and here's me trying to unload some crap unwanted items

edit.... the bottom part of the stove is alloy not stainless

Is the alcohol burner the military mess kit size, or the civilian Trangia type?
