Hello, hope all is well with all stovie messrs and madams under the covid19 circumstances...!
Today it's not easy to find the NIB, NOS Optimus Hiker+ plus in my country, and I think worldwidely this is nearly no more stock.

I've found some photos from web, the Packaging box of Hiker+ says the country of origin as Manufactured in Sweden, then realized that the second line says En Coree Du Suede which seems strange...

I don't speak French, like this English, afaik many European languages use Du, De, Di, something like that means a kind of "From"(sorry if wrong), so that means Made in Corea From Sweden?? I really don't know...

Does anybody know any idea of this?

    Hi @Yun¹²⁴ ,

This is extremely funny... This must be a misprint where someone doing the graphics was copying the French from another packaging (with something made in South Korea presumably). I think they just changed "sud" (south) to "Suède" (Sweden).

My understanding of French suggests that what it states is: Made in Korea of Sweden, but the grammar is wrong (!). It should have been "de la" instead of "du (de+le)" since Sweden is a female noun. Maybe some of our French speaking friends can verify.

I have not seen this before, when I have time I will check the packaging I have.

To answer your question I can however confirm that Optimus Hiker+ was made in Sweden. From beginning until discontinuation.

    Best Regards/Staffan

    Hello Mr. Staffan,
I was wrong so it means Of, not from. sorry!
Yes I am sure the hiker plus was made in Sweden as it was declared in English
I found two cases which are having that sentence as the photos.
This was funny mistake and easy to be found by consumers but in my view nobody talked about it, only one Korean stovie was having curious on internet. (Not me, I realized this from him)

    Thank you for yr reply,
Yun who is super fan of Ikea

    Hello again @Yun¹²⁴

Today I had time to check my secret stash. Here's a box for Hiker+ with the same printing error:

And here is a box for a kettle that was sourced in South Korea. My guess is that it was copy-paste when working on the Hiker+ graphics, but no proper proof reading...

    Dear @Staffan Rönn
Thank you for your post and photos!
So as your supposition the print in French might be only by a human error.
Now I've a new curious, who made that kettle for Optimus katadyn oem!
