Hi here are some photos of a rather nice Optimus No.1 stove. This is a classic 2-pint brass-tank stove, fuelled with paraffin and fitted with a roarer burner:

Hi, I was asked @OMC about the marking on the tank base of this stove. I took a couple of additional photos:

    St.53-Op.1Tank-marking.jpg

The base of the tank is marked "MADE IN SWEDEN", a marking used by Optimus on post-PTC (approx 1962) stoves.

On the upper surface of the the tank, the multi-language markings indicate this is an Upplands-Vasby made stove.

The top of the burner is marked "OPTIMUS-SWEDEN"

This Optimus No.1 stove is fitted with a recessed/sunken filler tube, a feature that Optimus introduced to this particular model in 1957/58.

The above observations suggest that this particular stove was manufactuered around 1962 and the formation of the Primus Trading Co.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Hi, I have just checked on this stove and the fuel filler cap is marked SWEDEN - SWEDEN, with no mention of Optimus. This again is an indication of a post-1962 manufacture, since by using this non-specific marking, the part could be used on both Optimus and Primus products.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.
