Here is one of my Optimus No. 96. It conforms with Bryan Miller's classification as "Version 6 1977?-19XX?". It has diamond knurling, and came in a red tin with no markings on the tin. It is the same as the stove posted by @Doc Mark here. It is the stove that I fettled on my trip to the snow. It's been cleaned and fettled but not polished. "Optimus No. 96". "Made in Sweden". The bits. NOTE: like @Doc Mark's it did not have a brass gauze "cigar" in the lipstick. I made one. The tin. (I'm waiting to get some Hammerite rust gel to work on the rust on this tin). Packed with all accessories, 65ml (2oz.) metho and matches. Getting it going: @kerophile & @Doc Mark As I said in Doc's post, I was able to remove the burner bell from the lipstick with some gentle persuasion; but after the firing above, the bell was again firmly on the lipstick. So there it stays! This is a great little stove. Cheers Tony
