Hi I have an Optimus stove - Was my parents so great sentimental value to me I have been using this on our many camping trips - all good
I have been burning paraffin (28 second oil really) and all good - great flame cooks well
I understand these should run duel fuel ? so tried it on unleaded - it was very poor kept getting blown out by the slightest puff of wind etc
should this run ok on petrol ?

many thanks for any info at all on this stove

    Simon

It might require a different jet (larger hole) to run properly on lighter fuels. I'd stick with the paraffin-type fuel. If for no other reason, it is safer.

These old ones would run on paraffin or white gas - I wouldn't recommend unleaded due to additives, despite the old info. I'd only run on paraffin. It's aparaffin design. If the pump valve fails with petrol the resulting leak can be intersting!

    Thanks for the replies
I think I will stick with the 28 second oil seems to work just fine to be honest it was just an experiment really on the petrol, I have pressure lamps that also use the 28 second so I have some

I do enjoy using this stove make me smile every time and reminds me of my parents who enjoyed camping

    is is a 8R model ??

Welcome to CCS. It looks like a fine stove.
Can you post more photos? Like a closer look at the burner.

    Hi, and welcome.

The 111 roarer was made as 111 and 111B (B=Bensin (gasoline))
The kero model may but should not run on gas.
If you have a kind of kero not making soot, you have a good quality of kero.

    Parts may still be available.
