    Here is a Peerman spirit dispenser, marketed by CJ Thomas & Son who were Coleman agents in Australia in the 1950s ("Coleman-Thomas"/Coleman Quick-Lite Co. of Aust. Pty Ltd). In the Coleman-Thomas catalogue here, this item is identified as an "FC/49 Filling Can".

    This dispenser is a companion to another Peerman one shown here.

    Now that makes sense as a material. Not tin to develop pin holes, or soft plastic to spring a leak at a crease and with a tactile warmth to the hand that brass lacks.
