I found a Perkins Marine Stove and I would like to get it rehabbed
the fuel tank seems to be intact
I see your stove was manufactured when Perkins were still based at their premises in New York.
My Perko was made once they’d moved to Florida, so in 1961 or after according to company history.
Good Morning Everyone,
Your stove looks well used, it seems you’ve got a bit of work to do to clean it up, but that’s half the fun of getting these old devices.
I also picked up a Perko stove, just this last weekend as a matter of fact. It was at an antique mall in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
It is the newer Florida manufacture, and appears practically unused. I have not had time to give it a good look over yet, but I’m sure it will work just fine with just a bit of tuning. Here are a couple of pictures that I took of it.
I have the stove dissasembled and cleaned as well as I can.
Now, how do I clean the monel metal?
and, the tank has rust, what is the best way to clean the rust out?
