Greetings, I am currently restoring an early Prentiss-Wabers Model 4, re-badged as Lakeside #2. The stove has the steel fount (left-side mount), wooden-handled pump, and the long tubular generator. The generator has the steel spring insert and a good gas tip. I can't find a good diagram for an early Model 4 generator, nor did I find any infornation on this specific generator in my search of the Forum. My question is whether or not the generator originally had a pricker which ran the length of the "U" curved brass pipe and exited at the tip. There is no cleaning lever on the tank, and the fount-mounted primary fuel valve is a needle-type, with no means of connection to a pricker. Thanks for whatever help you can provide, E
I'm pretty sure there was no pricker. I have a lot of PW's, but no number 4, so I am taking an educated guess. The good folks at the COleman Collectors Forum know a lot about a lot of USA stoves, including PW, might give them a shout
Thanks for the advice, Majic. Duane - I have it torn completely apart now, down to desoldering and removing the endcaps of the tank. When finished I'll paint the tank in the proper colour, but am going to nickel-plate the interior and exterior before sealing it up. Hopefully it will last another 100 years. - Eamon
