I was lucky to find this pre 1911 Primus 230 on ebay last year for less then 100.USD.Not sure why it went so cheap. Only thing wrong with it was a missing reserve cap boss and the box had been painted. This photo shows the old green paint on the box and a post fettle light up.Not sure why the flame was violet. With the paint removed it still had much of the shine. This came with the reserve cap but no boss. The bottle is not original. It's an Omnipaque bottle I get from my work place. Outside of box showed the green color these boxes get after so many years. Nice brass shield. These boxes are just so cool.Without them these stoves would never last this long still with all or most of the parts. First 1 pint ? The trick to removing the paint on these is to not remove the green/grey patina on the outside. Highly polished brass is not easy to photograph because you get as much sky as you do stove. I am hoping to find a donor Optimus 00 or a 210 so I can cut off the threaded part and solder a reserve boss on this.
