Latest project arrived yesterday looking to get it up and running to use as a lead smelter

Plumbers Furnace London 710 with it’s Primus 702 burner

It’s in a bit of a sorry state very rusty but still solid all considering the age of it
fortunately though the burner is holding pressure so a good strip down clean fingers crossed will see it serviceable and running as it was intended
will update as things progress any advice would be greatly received

After a brief inspection the three legs on the 710 furnace stand are out of alignment slightly as the burner isn’t sitting central looks like it’s took a knock
So I’ve decided on a full strip down of this is probably the only way to get everything lined up correctly

Forgot to add advice on dating this setup would be welcome :content:

burner tube is missing 55mm outside diameter
I can easily source some steel tubing for now until I can eventually find some cast pipe
just need to know it’s overall length ?

Fired up the Primus 702 burner tonight for around half an hour holding good pressure with no signs of any leaks or weeping fuel

Outstanding flame shots and an impressive restoration! I
look forward to seeing how the outfit handles lead melting.
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.
