A Primus 71 with canteen and stove-stand with thin removable pot-supports, forming the 71E set. Canteen can be used as a saucepan and frypan. The cotton strap is original to the set. I'm dating this stove to mid 1930's. The short version of the 71 was introduced in 1931 and lasted at least until 1939. The few catalogues we have that were made after '39 don't mention it, nor can it be seen in illustrations. Here is a picture of the 30/31 catalogue showing the short versioned 71: And here is the 1939 illustration: Alumin(i)um cylinder case with lid with strap. Alumin(i)um insert (combined draughtshield and pot-supports). Stove, flat filler cap. No hex nut to remove regulator stem. Fount stamping. Use only petrol (stamped in 4 languages). benzine, benzoline, naphta, petrol. More fount stamping. Primus No. 71 Made in Sweden and 'Trade Mark Primus'. Underside of tank. Her cork gasket would still hold pressure, wick was perfectly fine, old fuel was drained. After putting in some fresh fuel and preheating she was good to go. Frank
Now that I've posted this I see that the pictures are way too small to be viewed properly. I've never before had this problem but would appreciate if an admin/moderator could help me with resizing the pictures or show me how it's done. Frank
